In these three images, we see a train being attacked--strafed by machine gun--in either SW China, Indochina, or the China-Burma area. Interestingly, the train is in the midst of an area of trees along the track, and seems to be stopped there (notice it has note moved between photos), possibly as an attempt at camouflage. As the war progressed, American air superiority became the rule in this region, and Japanese ground forces were eventually largely unprotected from American attacks, and suffered tremendous damage.
