Captain Glade C. Burton, a pilot with the 51st Fighter Group, disappeared strangely on a short routine flight near Kunming on January 20, 1945, and never have there any clues regarding what might have happened to him. Even through 60 years have passed, he has by no means been forgotten, and the costs that these great men and their families have paid has not been lessened. Indeed, part of our hope here is that not only will Mr. Burton be honored, but also that this man, his life, and his sacrifice will become part of a permanent historical record. Captain Burton was a member of the 25th Fighter Squadron, "Our Assam Draggins."
Captain Burton's P-40 was named "Jeffrey C." in honor of his son. (Thanks to sds)
