Chew K. Wong of Sacramento promoted to Captain in the Air Corps. In October 1943 he was assigned to Air Service Command and put in charge of salvaging the airplanes that have crashed and are scattered throughout China. He has been recommended for the Legion of Merit.

Philip Eppley was a pilot in the 25th Fighter Squadron, "Our Assam Dragon," stationed in China during WWII. He flew over 100 missions in China during World War II, flying P-40 and P-51 fighter planes. He was discharged from the service early in the war, on Nov. 2, 1943, with a rank of First Lieutenant.
